Manticores are an odd mix of a lot of animals thought up by the Greeks or people in India. They are usually depicted as having a lion's body, a man's head, and a scorpion's tail. Some varieties even have porcupine spines on their backs. From its tail the manticore could shoot poisonous spines and in some stories could only be destroyed by a lion. Humans are said to be their favorite meal. This is one beast you don't want to run into without a lion friend.
